About Us Together We met while Richard was stationed in Germany in October of 1994. Back then I was still living with an abusive boyfriend (well we weren't exactly boy- and girlfriend anymore - even though that boyfriend thought we were, I was just waiting to find an apartment so that I could move out). While that boyfriend was away during weekends I used to go out. That particular Saturday night I was only able to go to a club that I usually would have never went to (it had a bad reputation) if it weren't for the transportation issues I had (I didn't have a car and the public transportation's times weren't that good). Richard only went to that club that night because he got stood up by someone. I was standing in a corner sipping on a drink, moving to the music a little and watching all the other people. Richard came over and offered to buy me a drink. Since I already had a drink I declined his offer and Richard left. I liked him from the start and was hoping he would come back. He did, and since my drink was done he bought me another. We talked and talked and then decided to go to his car. He had some wine coolers in the car and we drank some while driving around a little and talking. Then it was time for me to go, and he drove me home. During that evening I had told Richard where I work and a couple of days later he showed up at my place of work. We have been together ever since then. We got married in January of 1996 and moved to Colorado Springs, CO, then to upstate NY and currently we are in Michigan.
